Hand Sculptures

Abstraction is filtered to a simple expression of hands and colour pigment. Pairing colour and form, this series of hand performances is abstraction reduced to the slightest of gestures. Covering my fingers in raw pigments and mimicking ‘finger shadow puppet’ poses, I attempt to create a colourfield abstraction.

This series of paintings are explorations of abstraction through colour, spatial dynamics, and memories of the Pacific Islands. Deconstructions of ocean and island topographic imagery sweltering in the glare of hyper fluro paints.
