In this work I want to investigate the paradox of copying and the mirror reflection. Using tubular slides, the material used in waterslide construction or a childrens playground, I want to assemble a slide that doesn’t have a logical conclusion. Instead it is created by attaching two beginnings together. The outcome will be a sculpture of a slide that has lost its function.
In this work I am using a material that invokes play and ideas of childhood to create a problem. On one hand there is the desire to engage with the sculpture and literally use the slide and on the other hand using the slide is impossible because of its physical form.
